Adobe 99U Commissioned Poster
The Collaborative Canvas
Through the Adobe Creative Apprenticeship Program, I had the opportunity to design a commissioned poster for the Adobe 99U Conference in New York City. The conference is a premier gathering for global creative leaders to talk about the future of work and creative practice. Working under the creative direction of Adobe Creative Collective member Tina Roth Eisenberg was such an impactful, collaborative experience, and it was incredible to see my final work featured live at the event.
The project centered on the theme "Collaborative Canvas." I wanted to find a conceptual bridge between traditional physical craft and digital layout, and I found myself inspired by the history of quilting. Quilting has always been a community-driven, collaborative medium, acting as a collective space where individual pieces come together to tell a story. Because I love exploring how physical media and typography can intersect, I used the grid as a common structure to bridge the mediums. By bringing these two systems together, the poster became a study of how separate typographic elements can lock together to create a unified visual dialogue.
My process was highly experimental and iterative, balancing rigid geometry with expressive letterforms. I started by mapping out a complex, geometric quilt pattern to serve as the foundation. Instead of forcing standard fonts into the layout, I designed custom typography tailored specifically to fit the exact proportions and angles of the individual geometric blocks. Each letter was built to respect the boundaries of its specific slice, creating a tight, interlocking puzzle where the type and the grid completely depend on each other. The final piece honors the tactile heritage of textile design while using modern graphic design systems, offering a fresh visual take on what it means to build a collaborative canvas.

Make it stand out.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
